Well, I got picked to do the blog. Thanks, Rios. Which was suprising because I wasn't expecting Rios to choose me. Anyways Riley just whispered if she can borrow a piece of paper and copy my notes. So, right now Ms. Nakada is talking about Dream Deferred. It has a rhyme scheme of AA BB CC. The tone is sad, angry.  Ms. Nakada just told us the poem is gross.

Anyways back to the class work we just finished reading "Aunt Sue's Stories" and we are discussing words we don't know like bosom. This is the imagery for the poem: on the porch telling stories to a boy-bookends
middle stanza- flashback into story- of slavery. Oral history was the only way to pass down knowledge from generation to generation. Langston Hughes captures oral history. There is lots of repetition in this poem.

Now we're reading " Mother to Son". Oh and HI : ) Lenin and Devin. OMG Maytal is the best XD the way she read the poem. So Maytal's reading is problematic because her reading doesn't capture the dialect, oh well nice try Maytal. Everyone is telling Milhon to read and I'm not gonna lie she read it pretty well. This poem is written in dialect which is when they capture the way people talk. The poem has a message of don't quit-even when life is hard. The analogy is crystal stair to life and crystal stair being easy life and the beat up stairs hard life. Langston Hughes used dialect to capture the woman's voice and he did it pretty well. Now we're starting our poems and it's getting quiet. I'm going to go do that now so bye.
