"The Book Thief"
Upcoming Dates
HW: RJ 8.3 pg. 420-437
I had a feeling I would get chosen to do the blog so I just talked to Gomez and tried to blend in, but Eli picked me. I can hear Ronan and Gomez's annoying voices all the way from here. Ms. Nakada is now telling us the important dates that are coming up. Happy really early birthday Kiara! My birthday was on Friday, but it didn't really feel like it. Yes I got a lot of "Happy Birthday"'s, but it kind of sucked. G*d decided to pee on my birthday and for some reason everyone was having a bad day. Everyone was all sappy and I was just standing there saying, "Hey don't be sad", and honestly it was pretty depressing. Especially since that day just happened to be my birthday, but that's called life. I don't feel 14, it's weird.
15 week grades are due on the 2, so it's pretty close. Our last book projects are due the same day. If you're not culminating, you'll know on the 23. For ESA, your trip to Santa Barbara is on the 21. Lat year, they saw a dead seal. The 28 is 8th grade field day! Riley, yes 8th grade culmination is something you need to go to. Our 8th grade dance is on the 30 of May.
We're now doing "The Book Thief" notes. People blacked out their windows so that planes couldn't see the light and target at that city. Champagne is something you drink when you want to celebrate something, and when Liesel got that first sip it made her pretty happy. Rudy is such a sweet heart. We realize that the reason Rudy got himself disqualified on purpose was because he didn't want to dishonor Jesse Owens. When he saw that there was a book for Liesel to steal, he brought her to it. When she opened the book, Liesel saw that Ilsa left a letter for her. Ilsa knows she's been stealing, but hopes she can one day come through the front door.
I was going to look up what Mr. is in German, but Ms. Nakada did it for me. It's Herr, and we've actually seen it a couple of times. When Hans gave a Jew some bread during the Jew Parade, he got whipped 4 times. What a horrible thing to do to someone who is just trying to help. Max had to leave since Hans was scared the Nazi's would come for him. When Hans went to go look for him he found a note from Max that said, "You've done enough". So dramatic. Now Hans blames himself.
Riley asked for some music, but Ms. Nakada replied with Maytal. She said, "Why would I put music on when we have Maytal?", and I agree. Maytal started singing "Do You Wanna Build A Snowman?", and Gomez shut her up. Ms. Nakada you have to see Frozen!!! Oh and thanks for putting on some music.
Riley nice face. I got Franny in it too.
